Following a successful first edition, the Prague Summer School of Papyrology returns in September 2026, this time as part of WP1 – Fragments of the PAMELA project. Over five days at the Klementinum and Charles University in Prague, papyrologists from Heidelberg University, the University of Warsaw, University College London, and Macquarie University will offer students workshops focused on developing palaeographic skills and deciphering Greek papyri. Students will have the opportunity to work with unpublished papyri from the Prague collection. The most interesting of these will be analysed in greater detail during a follow-up summer school in Heidelberg in 2027. The event in Prague will thus contribute to building local expertise that is vital for preserving and studying the cultural heritage housed in the National Library of the Czech Republic.
